The Garden

With the weather getting so warm around here, it's tempting to start my garden. I have to use some serious self-discipline in order to stay away from my seeds. While the ground might be moist and toasty right now, that doesn't mean that we're out of frost danger. So yesterday, when my daughter came home from school, we planted a few annuals that I have been given. Our daughter loves planting and gardening, and I love being able to do it with her. We'll plant a few other things tonight or Saturday then wait a couple more weeks for the garden.

Planting a garden is such a powerful metaphor in our walk with Christ. You think about how much thought, love, and hard work goes into it...it's the same with God. He wants us to grow into strong plants that have a purpose in life.

"The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail."
Isaiah 58:11
