Pets and Prayer

Earlier this week, Mangy Moose Acres experienced the loss of a pet. You would have thought the world ended when our beta fish went belly up. In fact, our daughter did not calm down until she realized that "Purty" would now be joining "Pish" in Heaven. A day later, dad saved the day by getting "Speedy." For those of you concerned about the animal count, we're back to status quo.

While it can't be compared, our death experience this week made me think of my dear friend down south. Earlier this year, she watched from her yard as two pit bulls attacked their family pet. Tragically, both her little girls were with her witnessing this take place. However, in the midst of this violence, one of her daughters looked up to her and asked if they should pray for their kitty.

"Even a child is known by his deeds, Whether what he does is pure and right."
Proverbs 20:11

Yes, you can bring up the "having child like faith" in this instance, but I see it as something else. My friend's little girl has already revealed her moral character. She has learned by example and put that to use in her young life. Bravo, mom and dad. You have yourself a little prayer warrior.

You brought me to tears again Mrs. Meyer! Thank you for such kind words. I wish I could take credit. I am sorry to hear about the loss of a friend at the Meyer house. We should all be so tender hearted about living things, and then the world would be a much better place eh? Give Grace hugs from her Boise Bunch of Friends! Love you guys!!!
