Practice, Practice, Practice

Yesterday, I got my last issue of Oprah. I've decided to give it a break and move on to something new. She's been good to me, but I thought I would be more productive with my time and become a better cook. Rachael Ray's magazine will start arriving in my box soon...hopefully providing the inspiration I need to whip up some "d-lish" dinners.

Oprah has always given me great tips on living my best life. I want to share the quote from yesterday's magazine. It struck a chord because I have heard this word so many times in my life, and thought the use was appropriate in all aspects of my journey here on earth.

"I believe that we learn by practice. Whether is means to learn to dance by practicing dancing or to learn to live by practicing living, the principles are the same. In each, it is the performance of a dedicated precise set of acts, physical or intellectual, from which comes shape of achievement, a sense of one's being, a satisfaction of spirit. One becomes, in some area, an athlete of God. Practice means to perform, over and over again in the face of all obstacles, some act of vision, of faith, of desire. Practice is a means of inviting the perfection desired."
