Changes

Things are changing around here. Fall is on its way. My husband is getting ready for archery season, my little girl is getting ready for school. The mornings are much cooler when I go out to feed. I love this time of year.

Normally, I'm not one that enjoys change. In fact, it makes me very nervous. However, I live in a region with 4 seasons and seem to always be ready for the shift in weather. I wish I was more like that in all areas of my life. Change is good for us, as is a little adversity now and then. It makes us realize how good we have it, how we can't take it for granted, and how it can make us stronger.

Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain.... [A]ccept the seasons of your heart, even as you have always accepted the seasons that pass over your fields....
~Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet, 1923

Oh how this post resonates with me. I feel like I may have made too many changes! But I am adjusting...it is so different to be in a completely new school district and school system. You're right about appreciation that change can bring. I have found reasons to appreciate what I had in Boise more this week and also appreciate the new changes that are happening. -S
