The Plum Tree

One of the plum trees we have near the garden decided to give out the night before last. The top of it basically split off due to the weight of the plums this year. We had thought about putting something under the branches, but didn't do anything in time. The plums were just too much for the tree to bear so it broke. How often do we break before we reach out for help? We carry around that burden, that issue that is burning a hole in our heart? Yes, everyone has issues. That's no secret, but carrying them around like a secret can destroy relationships and your own self. God doesn't want you to yoke yourselves with your fears and doubts. He wants you to allow Him to help you out. You need to do that before your spirit breaks...just like the plum tree.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Matthew 11:28-30

So insightful... as always. I really enjoyed this one today though, as I sometimes feel "plum" wore down and weary too.

Thanks for the photos from Celebrate Life. I especially love the one of you and Grace.

We'll miss you this weekend. Cam and I will be around into late August. I'll give you a call next week.

Talk soon!
