Thinking, not Obsessing

The longer we live, the more we have behind us to make up that past. So it's easy to remember our wrongs more clearly than anything else because they have accumulated over the years. We can replay them like movies in our heads or flip through them in our minds like snapshots in a photo album. Or rehearse what we should have said like old lines in a script that we run over and over. But this is not thinking; it is obsessing. And it will never bring us closer to what we long for: closeness and connection to God.
