Take a Rest!

There is a genetic predisposition in our family that doesn't allow us to rest. It starts with my grandparents and has been passed down through my parents and to my sister and myself. For some reason, it's hard to relax. It's hard to take a day and just let it be empty. Today, I'm going to make an attempt to not do much and just rest. While this sounds simple, it's not. We are wired to be productive, creating a to-do list of endless proportions. However, even God wants us to take a break sometimes. He alone can provide all the rest we need.

"My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken."
Psalm 62:1-2

I don't know ... making lists, crossing things off, and then reorganizing the lists is all very relaxing. Well, making lists and eating bon-bons, that is. - Kris

I know that predisposition, as well, and it is hard to just rest and take time to be quiet and be wtih God. I had an hour yesterday where I couldn't do anything I it was even hard to focus my thoughts then because they were running all over the place! =) Praying for you to have a great rest filled day!
