It was priceless watching my daughter last night. We were expecting a huge storm to roll through bringing our first snow. She would shine the flashlight outside every five minutes to see if it reached us yet. This went on for what seemed forever. Finally, the white stuff started to fall out of the sky. She was so excited. She continued to watch it occasionally and even found herself looking at a flying squirrel at our feeder! This is kind of a rare spotting, but just one more thing to get her amped for the evening. It was hard to put her to bed, and I know we'll be slow in getting to the bus stop this morning while I trudge through the snow and she only wants to play in it. You know what, though? It's the little joys that keep us going. We need to remember that.
Man is fond of counting his troubles, but he does not count his joys. If he counted them up as he ought to, he would see that every lot has enough happiness provided for it.

We've already discovered one drawback to the snow this morning. Puppies don't like to do their business in it; the house floors seemed much better.
Oh, the adjustments in the young'uns lives when things suddenly change overnight!
Woo hoo your first snow!!!!
Yay for snow! 65 degrees today in this area (oh the south)! I love the quote you included...it is ever too true! -S
