The Year Ahead

Wow, it's hard to believe another year has passed. While 2007 was full of some amazing blessings, I'm kind of glad to see it go. I'm thrilled about the year ahead, and instead of making "resolutions" for 2008, I've put together a little list of reasons why God can't take me home in 2008. There is too much to do, too much to see.

1. Grandma's garden. I'm so excited about taking it on and canning like crazy. I will pickle asparagus for the first time and make oodles of apple pies and applesauce.

2. A giant garage sale with the family. While this sounds like a lot of work, it really is, but we always enjoy the early morning coffee and donuts and the time spent together. Oh...and evenings with KFC here at Grandma's.

3. Picking up our daughter from first grade. Oh....what a day!

4. Celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. It's hard to believe it's already been 10 years! We still haven't decided what we'll do for the big day.

5. Signing the papers on our house. Oh, I would love to see our house sell this year!

6. Riding horses a lot with JR. We need to get back to riding and sharing our thoughts while we pretend we're in 6th grade again.

7. Competing with ML at the fair again. This time it might be vegetables, who knows. We both live in the valley now so it could be close, folks.

8. Taking our daughter to 2nd grade. 2nd grade????

9. Voting at the 2008 election....as soon as I can find a candidate I'm totally behind.

10. Watching our daughter turn 8. How does it go by so fast?

11. Being able to flip to the page of our Appaloosa calendar where my friend ML's lovely filly is Miss December.

Yes, these are the reasons I'm thrilled about 2008. May God let me stick around for at least one more year to enjoy all of it!

Happy New Year!!!!!!
