Whose Path is it??

If you live on this side of the states, you have no doubt heard about the family that was lost in the Oregon wilderness. Tragically, the dad, who went to look for help, died while the other family members were found in the car alive. This man was trying to save his family. He walked for over 4 miles in the mountains trying to find help in a nearby town. Unfortunately, he went in the wrong direction and if he had gone the other way, he would have found a fishing lodge within a mile of his car.

While this is such a sad tragedy, I can't help but compare it to our relationship with God. We will go through divorce, bad jobs, poor choices and continually struggle to find OUR way through life. We think we can handle the situation and provide our own map for our life. The thing is, God is right there with an easier way if we just tune into him. He knows what is best for our lives and if we live according to HIS map, we may just find things less difficult.

"My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; In the morning I will direct it to You, and I will look up."
Psalm 5:3

Apparently, I have been in a cave lately... I just heard about this story as I read your post. How sad... Your analogy though was very poignant and true!
