Making the Choice

A while back, I was at a social gathering and couldn't help but over hear a conversation next to me.

"I hear you have a new job."
"Oh yes, still in transition with helping out the company and moving on to my new job."
"Congratulations."
"Thanks. My life is AWFUL right now. So crazy. You would not believe it."

Okay...maybe I was being judgemental, but the only thing I heard was how this person's life was so awful. Comments like that burn in my gut (please forgive me, Father.) This is a person with a wonderful family, supportive husband, and great health. What is so awful? We make the choice on how much we fill up our schedules to make it crazy or not. Our choice...no one else. When we have maxed ourselves to beyond what we can handle, we have no one else to blame but ourselves. God didn't ask us to sign up for everything. He wants us to enjoy life and be an example for Him...nothing more.

"He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; He provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy."
Acts 14:17
