This year, my raspberries are few and far between. It was like that last year, but the first summer we were here, there were a ton of them. I can't understand it. I'll ask people for their opinion on what I did wrong, and they just respond with the words, "it's just like that." I guess "it's just like that" for cherries, plums, and pears as well. Last year, I had nothing. This year, the plum tree is going to break off all of its branches with the weight of the fruit.
While there is no rhyme or reason for the lack of fruit in the literal, there is an explanation for the lack of fruit in our lives. Apart from Christ, we as believers cannot accomplish anything of permanent spiritual value. Creating fruit is a process. It takes time and hard work. If we obey His word, dig our roots deeper, abiding in Him, we'll produce something significant and meaningful that lasts more than a "season."
"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."

My berries are having a hard time too... some things we can control and others we can't. This is a great message and reminder to "keep the main thing the main thing!" Thinking of you, A
