I thought I would give you an update on the first grader. She still absolutely loves school. In fact, as we sat on Grandma's swing yesterday afternoon while talking about her day, she told me that she was so glad that summer was over. I asked her why and she told me that because she wants to be in school forever. I suppose I will have to remind her of that comment a few years down the road.
She was a bit tired last week. It was pretty humorous, I guess, when she got off the bus last week. My dad was there to pick her up and apparently she had to be helped by an older kid on how to properly cross the road when she was dropped off. She had this look on her face like, "if I have to take any more instructions from an adult, I'm going to scream." Unfortunately, I wasn't there to see it, but it sounds like the apple doesn't fall from the tree.
Personally, I am always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught.

YEAH !!! THE FIRST GRADERS ARE GETTING THE HANG OF THIS SCHOOL THING...
How wonderful! And its nice to see April's comment above and know that Miss T is also starting to feel good about school. I really pray that all students are blessed with that joy at least once in their lives...if not MORE!!!!! :) I LOVE the Churchill quote...teachers might be advised by such a quote... -S
