Yesterday, my husband had to go to a class in the little city south of us. As I sat watching the news, drinking my coffee, the local station had put a notice out about a head-on crash that was blocking the highway. Immediately, I panicked, thinking my husband was still on the road. Fortunately, when I discovered that his class was well on its way, I realized there was no way he was still on that highway. A couple of other things came up that morning that bothered me, so I just sat and kind of stewed about them. It took me a little bit until at one moment, I could have slapped myself upside the head. "How about praying?" Yes, I can be a little slow sometimes, thinking I have everything under control. I'm guilty of wanting to solve things on my own so I neglect to ask for help....even from God. Prayer was the only way I was going to unload the stuff I was thinking about.
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God."
Philippians 4:6

I worry about Shawn a lot in the same way and I am always anxious that he has been hurt. Thanks for the reminder about the best way to banish my anxiety. -S
